How to Get More Window Tint Customers
The tint shops that stay booked do five things. They show up in the Google Maps top 3 for searches near them, they have more recent reviews than the shop down the road, their website has a page for each service they sell, they advertise only the jobs worth buying, and they go back to the customers they already have. None of it is clever, and most shops do one or two of the five. This guide covers each one with real numbers from Tint Guy LLC, a Ceramic Pro Elite shop in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, that we have worked with since September 2023.

What is the best way for a tint shop to get more customers?
Get into the Google Maps top 3 for the searches near your shop. Tint is a nearby purchase: people type “window tint near me” or “ceramic tint” and their town, look at the three shops on the map, read the reviews and call one. A shop that is not in those three mostly does not get the call, however good the work is.
Google says it ranks local results on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your shop, so distance is fixed. Relevance (does your profile and website clearly say you do this work?) and prominence (reviews, links, how well known you are) are both yours to change.
How does a tint shop get into the Google Maps top 3?
Make your Google Business Profile complete and accurate, keep reviews coming every week, and measure the map from many points instead of one.
- Category and services. Window tinting service as the primary category, and every service you offer listed, including paint protection film and ceramic coating if you do them.
- Name, address, hours and website matching your website exactly. Contradictions make Google and the AI assistants less sure about you.
- Photos of your real work , added regularly, not stock images.
- Reviews every week , answered every time.
Then measure. One ranking number means little on Google Maps, because it changes with where the searcher is standing. We check Tint Guy LLC from 49 points across town every week. It holds a top 3 spot from 34 to 37 of those 49 points for “window tint near me”, “car window tinting” and the city search, and the grid shows exactly where it still loses: the side of town where a closer shop wins.
Do reviews really bring in tint customers?
Yes, because nobody can see the difference between a cheap film and a good ceramic film before it is installed, so they read what other people said. Review count, rating, how recent the newest review is and whether you reply all feed your Google Maps placement and what AI assistants say about you.
Tint Guy LLC had 483 Google reviews in December 2023, three months after we started working together, and passed 1,000 in September 2026. The method is not clever: ask every customer at handoff, when they are looking at the finished car, then text them your direct review link so it takes one tap. Never pay for reviews or offer anything in exchange. The full method is in our guide to getting more Google reviews.
Does a tint shop need a separate page for each service?
Yes. Someone searching for ceramic tint, paint protection film or ceramic coating should land on a page about exactly that, with your film brand named properly, what it costs to have done and what the warranty covers. One page trying to sell everything ranks for nothing in particular.
Tint Guy LLC’s site has its own pages for automotive tint, paint protection film, ceramic coating and its Ceramic Pro products. Retiring the pages that sold work the shop did not want, and focusing the site on what it does, moved its average Google position from 45 to 19.5 between June and September 2026.
Should a tint shop pay for advertising?
Yes, for the jobs worth buying, priced against what each job is worth, and only once you can count real leads. A $250 dyed-film job and a $2,000 PPF front end cannot carry the same cost per lead.
In the 30 days ending September 21, 2026, Tint Guy LLC’s Google Ads produced about 202 leads across calls and forms for $1,729, roughly $8.50 a lead. A typical window tint lead costs $50 to $90. Our guide to Google Ads for window tint shops covers budget, cost per lead and what to cut.
How do you get repeat and referral tint customers?
Keep the phone number and email of every customer, and go back to them. People who were happy with their tint buy new vehicles, own homes with hot rooms and work in offices with glare. Reaching someone who already paid you costs far less than buying a new customer, and almost no tint shop does it consistently.
It only works if you capture contact details at the counter every time. Start today; the list grows every week whether you use it yet or not.
What should a tint shop measure?
Real leads: a form that lands on your side, and a call that lasts 60 seconds or longer. Not taps on your phone number, not page views. Count those every week, by channel, and you will know what to keep and what to cut. That is the number we report to every client, and it is the number that should match what your phone actually did.
Questions tint shop owners ask
How do window tint shops get customers?
Mostly from the Google Maps top 3 for searches near the shop, decided by the Google Business Profile and reviews, followed by Google search, paid search ads on the jobs worth buying, and past customers coming back. Tint is a nearby purchase, so most buyers pick from the three shops shown on the map.
What is the best marketing for a window tint shop?
A complete Google Business Profile with the Window tinting service category, a steady flow of recent reviews, a website page for each service, and Google Ads aimed at the jobs the shop wants most, all measured by real leads: forms that land and calls of 60 seconds or longer.
Is Facebook good for getting tint customers?
It can help for visual work such as paint protection film and ceramic coating shown to people nearby, but social ads create demand rather than catching people already searching, so they usually pay back slower than Google. Most shops should fix the map pack and Google search first, then test social and measure it by real leads.
